Where do camel spiders live?

Camel spiders live in dry desert areas. They are often found in the deserts of the Middle East, but they also live in Mexico and the southwestern portion of the United States. Camel spiders avoid the sun and are nocturnal.

Camel spiders can grow to a length of 6 inches and weigh as much as 2 ounces. The large, hairy, tan camel spiders are carnivorous, and their diet consists of small birds, bugs, rodents and lizards. They are not venomous, but they use their strong jaws to capture and consume their prey. They can run at speeds of up to 10 mph.
