Can you download a printable IRS form to use later?

Many IRS forms are available as PDF files that can be downloaded or printed for later use, according to the Internal Revenue Service. Many of these are fill-in forms that can be completed on a computer and submitted electronically. The data entered on these forms can be saved.

Some PDF forms provided by the IRS are "information only" files, as the IRS explains. While these files and forms can be downloaded, they should not be printed or submitted to the IRS; only the officially printed versions of these forms are accepted. Among the forms that cannot be printed are W-2 and W-3 forms, as well as the various forms numbered from 1096 to 1099.
