You can eat lobster while pregnant. However, the amount of lobster consumed should be limited, according to the American Pregnancy Association.
Pregnant women should limit the amount of mercury in their diet because it can affect the baby's nervous system and brain development. Lobster is considered a type of seafood that has low levels of mercury. This means that a pregnant woman can eat up to six servings of up to 6 ounces each during a one-month period. The Mayo Clinic recommends that seafood, including lobster, be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees or higher. It should be milky white in color when it is done cooking.
