Dogs can eat raw lamb bones. Never give a dog a cooked bone, as the heat makes the bone brittle and indigestible. If consumed by a dog, it can cause serious health issues, including death.
Raw bones should be large enough that the dog cannot swallow the bone whole. Large dogs can be fed raw lamb shanks and necks, including the bones. Small dogs can be fed raw lamb ribs.
Offering raw bones to a dog is an excellent way to improve dental health. However, feeding too many raw bones can cause constipation. Feed raw bones two or three times a week, with several days in between each serving.
