To prevent your dog from returning to soil the same spot, thoroughly clean your soiled carpet with vinegar, peroxide and baking soda. In addition, you will need dish soap, towels or other material to absorb liquid and a vacuum.
- Clean up as much urine as possible
Use towels, rags, paper towels or newspapers to soak up as much of the urine as possible. Continue blotting the soiled area until the towel or your other medium no longer comes away wet.
- Clean area with vinegar and peroxide
Mix about one-half cup of white vinegar with 1-1/2 cups of warm water. Pour over soiled area, then soak up using the method in the previous step. Mix 1 teaspoon of dish soap into 1 cup of peroxide, then pour over soiled area. Soak up all of the moisture using the method in the first step.
- Use baking soda to completely dry carpet
Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the entire area that you just cleaned. Wait several hours until the area is completely dry. Vacuum the area slowly several times.
