Can Pepto Bismol be used to treat parvo?
By Forinfos - 11/08/2025 - 0 comments
Given the serious nature of parvo, human medicines and home remedies should not be used to treat the virus, says Advanced Veterinarian Care. Instead, dogs exhibiting symptoms of parvo should immediately be seen by a veterinarian.
Pepto Bismol is safe to give to dogs for mild, temporary stomach problems and diarrhea. Though puppies with parvo experience these problems, they need veterinary intervention to treat and prevent further dehydration. Puppies should begin a series of parvo vaccinations at about 6 to 8 weeks old. Unvaccinated puppies should be kept away from adult dogs that have not been vaccinated or are not up to date on their vaccinations.
