Can you play the Sims for free online?

Electronic Arts' popular PC game "The Sims" requires users to purchase and register the base game before playing and is not available for free online. Electronic Arts offers "The Sims FreePlay" as a free app for users of Apple, Android or Windows mobile devices.

PC users cannot play "The Sims FreePlay" without the use of a third-party program such as the Android operating system emulator BlueStacks. Alternatively, PC users can experience designing and customizing a Sim by downloading "The Sims 4 Create a Sim Demo" from the Origin store. Users can then upload Sims created using the demo into a registered "The Sims 4" game for use.
