Can you put hand lotion in your hair?

When run through the hair, a little hand lotion helps control frizziness. This is a convenient trick to use when hair products are not available.

Only a dab of hand lotion the size of a nickel is needed. A few drops of water should be mixed with the lotion to thin it out slightly. The new treatment is then run evenly through the hair.

Another way to control frizz is to use sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners, as sulfur compounds tend to strip the hair of natural oils that help control hair. Dry hair also responds well to a coconut oil deep-conditioning treatment once every week or two. The oil should be left on the hair for 20 minutes and then removed with shampoo.
