Who is on the Canadian 100 dollar bill?

The Bank of Canada states that Sir Robert L. Borden, an early 20th century prime minister of Canada, is on the front of the Canadian 100 dollar bill. He was Canada's prime minister from 1911 to 1920.

According to Encylopædia Britannica, Sir Borden was the head of the conservative party from 1901 to 1920. He is known and commended for transforming Canada's status from a British colony to that of a separate and independent nation. Sir Borden accomplished this during World War I by demanding that Canada gain an autonomous voice in the League of Nations rather than appear under the political umbrella of Britain.
