The capital of Sweden is Stockholm. It is located at the junction of Malar Lake and Salt Bay. This beautiful city is built on a group of islands and on the mainland of Uppland and Sodermanland.

The city was mainly built by the ruler Burger Jarl. It appeared as a small town first in 1252. It first became the Swedish capital in 1436.
