What is the CFCF prison in Philadelphia?

The CFCF prison in Philadelphia is the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, which is located in northeast Philadelphia. The facility opened in 1995 and is the largest in the Philadelphia Prison System at 25 acres, made up of four housing buildings and an administration building.

The Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility is named after Warden Patrick N. Curran and Deputy Warden Robert F. Fromhold, who are the only known staff members of the Philadelphia Prison System to have died in the line of duty as of 2014. Curran and Fromhold were killed on May 31, 1973 in Holmesburg Prison. Nearly 30,000 males are processed every year through the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility's receiving room.
