Where is Philadelphia?

Philadelphia is located in the southeastern portion of Pennsylvania, a state in the northeastern United States. It lies at the confluence of the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, about 95 miles southwest of New York City.

As of 2014, with a population of nearly 1.5 million, Philadelphia is the largest city in Pennsylvania, the sixth most populous city in the United States and the 49th most populous city in the world. The metropolitan area is home to 5.8 million people. Philadelphia was once the capital of the United States. It has a rich historical tradition and is home to important American cultural symbols, including the Liberty Bell and the Declaration of Independence.
