Why do children stay up so late in Spain?
By Forinfos - 24/06/2025 - 0 comments
Culturally, it is more common for Spanish families, including the children, to stay up later than other countries. Meal times and television programming might also cause children to stay up late.
In 2014, the Spanish consumer advocacy group Asociación de Usuarios de la Comunicación criticized the nation's television programmers for airing TV programs designed for children at late hours. According to this group, Spanish children were staying up too late in order to watch TV. Other factors, including late family dinner times, may contribute to the relatively late bedtimes enjoyed by Spanish children.
