Clean a tile shower using a variety of easy-to-mix solutions that are strong enough to match the level of dirt found. For light cleaning, use mild soap and water. A mixture of vinegar and water is useful for light water stains, while a bleach-and-water solution might be necessary to remove heavy stains.
- Remove dirt and debris
Add mild soap to a bucket of clean water until suds begin to form. Use a sponge to clean the tile, grout and other surfaces, washing from the top of the shower downward to prevent the spread of dirty water film. Use a circular motion to thoroughly clean the tiles and grout. Rinse the shower walls with clean water to remove soapy residue. Hard-to-reach areas can be cleaned using a soft toothbrush.
- Remove water stains
Create a cleaning solution composed of equal parts vinegar and water. Scrub the water stains away with a sponge using a circular motion. Rinse off the vinegar-and-water solution.
- Remove heavy stains
Mix a batch of cleaner using two parts water and one part bleach. Scrub away heavy water stains or mildew on the tiles by using this cleaning solution and a sponge. Rinse the cleanser off the tile and grout to remove the residue.
