How do you clean mold in a shower?

Get rid of mold in the shower by spraying with a bleach solution, scrubbing the surfaces and scraping deeply stained grout. Prevent future growth by keeping the shower dry and providing adequate ventilation.
- Spray the shower with bleach
Put on rubber gloves and clothing that you do not mind discarding if it becomes bleach stained. Turn on the bathroom vent to minimize fumes. Pour 1/4 cup of bleach into a standard spray bottle, and fill the bottle to the full mark with water. Cap the bottle, and shake well. Spray the solution on all the shower surfaces. Allow the bleach to work for at least five minutes.
- Scrub the shower
Use a soft rag to scrub the shower and remove as much of the remaining mold as possible. Reach into corners with an old toothbrush. Rinse the shower well to remove all the bleach. Do not use cleaners containing vinegar or ammonia in the shower while the bleach is still present.
- Scrape any remaining stains
If any mold stains remain on grout lines after the bleach treatment, use a utility knife to scrape away the stained grout. Scrape carefully so that you do not create a need to regrout the tile.
- Prevent future growth
Mold grows on wet surfaces, so dry the shower after each use. Turn on the bathroom vent to reduce moisture buildup when running water in the bathroom.
