When is Clergy Appreciation Month observed?

Churches mark October as Clergy Appreciation Month. The second Sunday of October is Clergy Appreciation Day. October was originally designated as Pastors Appreciation Month, which a nonprofit organization began in 1992 as a way to encourage congregations to show appreciation and support to their pastors.
Clergy Appreciation Month is an annual occasion during which congregations honor their pastors and pastoral families for their hard work and dedication by giving them cards, praying for them and hosting potlucks. Although many people mark the celebrations in October, churches and communities can shift it to any other time that is convenient for them.
