On which continent does Mexico reside?

Mexico is located on the continent of North America. The country shares a northern border with the United States and southern border with Guatemala and Belize. Although part of the North American continent, Mexico is considered to form part of the Central American region.

Mexico is surrounded by three bodies of water: the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The country has geographic coordinates of 23 00 N, 102 00 W. With a total area of almost 2 million square kilometers, Mexico has extreme variances in climate, ranging from tropical in the south to desert in the north.
