Romans crucified Jesus Christ on April 3 in the year 33, according to a geological survey published in the International Geology Review. While researchers previously agreed on the day of the month when the event occurred, they were uncertain of the year.
Geologists who conducted research leading to the conclusion that the crucifixion occurred in the year 33 studied seismic activity in the Dead Sea. They inspected the earth beneath a beach along the sea that is about 13 miles from Jerusalem, where the crucifixion occurred. The New Testament Book of Matthew includes a reference to an earthquake occurring at the time of the crucifixion, which the geologists' research confirmed.
