Where did Hurricane Sandy hit?

Hurricane Sandy formed in the Caribbean Sea on Oct. 23, 2012, and made landfall near Kingston, Jamaica on Oct. 24. It then continued to Cuba, Haiti and the Bahamas. The storm hit the United States near Atlantic City, N.J. on Oct. 29th.

Storm surges from hurricane Sandy that occurred near high tide reached record heights, causing flooding and coastal erosion in New Jersey and New York City. After damaging shore communities in New Jersey, Sandy's remnants traveled across Pennsylvania toward the Great Lakes and Canada. Sandy, reinforced by at least one other storm system in the region, was a post-tropical cyclone at the time it impacted the United States, according to the National Weather Service.
