Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert gained national attention for the use of the phrase "no homo," a perceived gay slur, during his press conference following Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Hibbert was later fined $75,000 by commissioner David Stern for his outburst.
When making a reference to competing against LeBron James, Hibbert stated "...I really felt that I let Paul (George) down in terms of having his back when LeBron was scoring in the post or getting to the paint, because they stretched me out so much. No homo (laughing)." The alleged slur resulted in his infamy.
