The first episode of "The People's Court" aired September 14, 1981, with Judge Wapner presiding. The series with Judge Wapner ran until May 21, 1993.
"The People's Court" was put back on the air on September 8, 1997 and has been on the air since then, as of 2015. The show celebrated its 30th anniversary on September 9, 2013. Since its reincarnation, "The People's Court" has been presided over by Ed Koch, Judge Jerry Sheindlin and Judge Marilyn Milian. "The People's Court" is a reality TV show that uses real court cases where litigants agree to have cases heard on television and to accept the rulings of the TV judge.
