When does Eastern standard time change for Daylight Saving Time?

For states that use Eastern Standard Time, the change is made to Eastern Daylight Time at two in the morning on the second Sunday in March of every year. In 2015, this was March 8.
As of 2007, the United States observes Daylight Savings from the second Sunday in March until the first Sunday in November. In both cases, the change over from Standard time to Daylight Savings time is made at two in the morning.
Although this change is made nationwide, it is not observed uniformly. All areas that do observe Daylight Savings do so at the same time; however, parts of a few states ignore Daylight Savings and remain on Standard time throughout the year.
