One large hard boiled egg contains 6.29 grams of protein. The protein found in eggs is considered to be high-quality protein because it is based on a wide variety of essential amino acids such as valine, leucine, tryptophan, lysine, methionine and cysteine.
Sixty percent of the protein found in a large egg is in the egg white, with the other 40 percent located in the egg yolk. Besides being a good source of protein, eggs contain high amounts of choline, biotin, selenium, vitamin B2 and vitamin B12. Eggs are also rich in minerals not found in many other foods, are low in calories and high in omega-3 fats.
