Whigham Funeral Home handled Whitney Houston's funeral. Located in Newark, New Jersey, Whigham Funeral Home was started by Charles Whigham in 1946, and the business is currently being run by his daughter, Carolyn Whigham, as of February 2015.

Whitney Houston passed away in February, 2012 from an apparent drug overdose. In addition to the planning and implementing of a typical funeral, the Whigham Funeral Home had to beef up security, which included 15 members of the Houston's family private security detail that stood guard over the body around the clock. Extra police protection was needed during the visitation and cemetery services as well.
