What is the galaxy of Orion?
By Forinfos - 28/03/2026 - 0 comments
Far from being a galaxy, Orion is the name of a nebula approximately 1,500 light-years from Earth. In the Earth's night sky, the nebula is just visible as part of the "belt" of the constellation of Orion.
The Orion constellation is composed of seven major stars and another 74 minor stars, 10 of which are known to have planets. The nebula that takes its name from the constellation is a stellar nursery where new stars are being assembled. It is interior to the Earth's position in the Milky Way galaxy and part of the spiral arm that also takes its name from Orion.
