What gulf is located between Saudi Arabia and Iran?

The body of water located between Saudi Arabia and Iran is called the Persian Gulf. The gulf is an offshoot of the Indian Ocean and Sea of Oman, whose waters pass through the Straight of Hormuz before entering the gulf.

The Persian Gulf was the location of the Persian Gulf War and the Iran-Iraq war and has had its ecology severely damaged by oil spills and industrialization, along with the fallout from numerous wars. Even with this damage, it is still home to many coral reefs, a high concentration of pearl-producing oysters and fishing areas. Iran borders the gulf to the north, while Saudi Arabia borders it to the south.
