Is Good Friday a federal holiday?
By Forinfos - 15/08/2025 - 0 comments
Good Friday is not a federal holiday as of 2014. The federal holidays as of 2014 are New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Federal law establishes the holidays each year. Some days that fall in the middle of the week are honored the following Monday, as is the case with Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday and Presidents Day. If a holiday such as Christmas Day or New Year's Day falls on a Saturday, the holiday typically is observed on the preceding Friday. If the holiday falls on Sunday, the occasion is honored on the following Monday.
