Who hid the treasure on Oak Island?

While it is not known as a fact, is widely believed that the Knights Templar are the ones who buried the treasure on Oak Island. Historical records suggest the Knights Templar would have had both the motivation and means for hiding a treasure on Oak Island.

According to legend, the Knights Templar, a secretive religious and military group of men founded in 1114, have been missing a great treasure composed of jewels, gold, sacred religious artifacts and English Royal artifacts, since the 13th century. There are an infinite number of legends and stories surrounding the missing treasure of Oak Island, however the story of the Knights Templar is at least grounded in historical facts.
