Published in 2007, "Hide and Seek" is the eighth book in the Sisterhood series by author Fern Michaels. As of 2015, the original series includes 25 books, plus 3 books from it's spin-off series "The Men of the Sisterhood.
The Sisterhood series tells the stories of four women, who after having been disappointed by the justice system, have come together to seek vigilante justice and revenge for themselves and others. The series starts with the book "Weekend Warriors," written in 2003.
The author Fern Michaels, whose real name is Mary Ruth Kuczkir, has written more than 100 books, and she is frequently featured on the New York Times Best-Sellers list.
