What is Homelite chainsaw's oil-to-gas ratio?
By Forinfos - 14/04/2026 - 0 comments
The recommended oil-to-gas ratio for a Homelite chainsaw, and most other brands of chainsaws, is a 50-to-1 mixture of 2.6 ounces of two-cycle chainsaw oil and 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline. The gasoline should be at least 87 octane.
If you are using oil that does not have an added fuel stablilizer, the ratio should be 16-to-1, using 8 ounces of two-cycle oil per gallon of unleaded gasoline.
Older saws may run just fine using a thicker ratio of oil to gasoline, such as a 40-to-1 ratio, or 40 parts gasoline to one part oil, but the spark plugs need to be replaced more frequently with this ratio.
