What are jaguar cubs?

Jaguar cubs are the offspring of the largest Central and South American wildcat. These spotted cats live in the abundant rain forests, swamps and floodplains. Each female bears two to three cubs, usually in the most common birthing months between December and March, according to A-Z Animals.

Blind at birth, the cubs' eyes open in a few weeks. Weaning occurs at 3 months of age, but their mother continues to protect and feed them for another three months until they begin to learn how to hunt. Jaguar cubs do not leave their mother or siblings to establish their own territories until the age of 1 or 2 years.
