John Donne was born in 1572 in London. He was a leading English poet of the Metaphysical school and dean of St. Paul’s Cathedral for ten years. Donne is considered by many to be the greatest love poet in the English language. Jonathan Swift was born in 1667 in Dublin. He was an author and poet, considered the foremost prose satirist in the English language. He is best known for "Gulliver's Travels."
