De Pablo joined the CBS crime procedural as a guest star in the third season premiere, and she became a regular cast member later that season. Prior to the production of the 11th season, de Pablo attempted to renegotiate her contract for $225,000 per episode, which is on par with her frequent scene partner, Michael Weatherly. CBS offered the actress $200,000 per episode. De Pablo decided to leave the program, but she did come back to complete her character's story arc.
