What is the life span of a mosquito?
By Forinfos - 28/11/2025 - 0 comments
Adult male mosquitoes live for about a week, and adult females live for around a month. Mosquitoes go through a typical insect life cycle of egg, larvae, pupae and adult. Depending on the species and environmental conditions, a mosquito can cycle from egg to adult in 10 to 14 days.
Eggs are laid in water and usually hatch into larvae after only 48 hours. Mosquito larvae live in water and eat micro-organisms and organic matter. After the larvae have molted four times, they turn into pupae. Pupae turn into adults after only two days. The adults fly and consume only liquids. Males consume plant juices, and females consume blood. After feeding, they mate, and the females lay eggs.
