The king cobra can live up to 20 years in the wild. There are numerous of varieties of cobras; the king cobra is indigenous to India and Asia.
King cobras can grow up to 18 feet in length, and they are the only snakes that build nests for their young. Both the male and female king cobras guard their eggs until the young are born. They reach sexual maturity between 5 and 6 years of age. According to National Geographic, while the king cobra is one of the most venomous snakes in the world, it is not considered aggressive unless it is cornered.
