How long should an obituary poem be?
By Forinfos - 04/09/2025 - 0 comments
There is no specific length requirement that obituary poems must conform to. These poems can range anywhere from one stanza containing 20 words to five stanzas containing 200 words or more.
The length of a bereavement poem is dependent on certain circumstances such as the time available at a funeral and the number of people reading verses. These poems can be written for a specific funeral or taken from various online libraries containing popular historical verses. Obituary poetry gained most of its popularity in the nineteenth century, and some of the most famous poems ever written comprise just one or two stanzas.
