Is the mail delivered on Columbus Day?

By Forinfos - 18/06/2025 - 0 comments

Mail is not delivered via the United States Postal Service on Columbus Day because it is a federal holiday. However, mail delivered through other agencies may still be delivered, depending on each agency's respective policies, which may change from year to year.

The post office celebrates Columbus Day even in states that do not celebrate the holiday, such as Hawaii, California and Nevada. In 2014, agencies such as FedEx and UPS still delivered on the holiday. Since Columbus Day is always the second Monday of October, individuals are advised to make plans in advance to send or receive mail before the holiday.
