How many people regularly recycle?

A 2007 Harris poll showed that only 30 percent of adults between the ages of 18 and 30 recycle regularly. People throughout the world recycle for a number of reasons, but not everyone has jumped on the recycling bandwagon.

Besides the obvious benefits to the economy and the environment, recycling saves energy, reduces landfills and saves consumers money due to lower production costs of the goods they use everyday.

Some cities across the U.S. impose fines on those who refuse to recycle and several companies across the nation offer cash to those who recycle glass bottles.
