How many teeth do kids have?

The number of teeth a child has depends on the age of the child. Babies are usually born without teeth. The first primary teeth erupt when the child is about 6 months old. These are often the lower, central incisors.
Next to erupt are the lateral incisors, the canines and the first and second premolars. These are followed by the first molars.
The primary teeth begin to fall out and are replaced by permanent teeth beginning when the child is around 6 and continuing until she's about 12. An adult normally has 28 teeth. In some people, four more wisdom teeth erupt when they're adults.
