Which meats have low protein in them?

The meats and seafood items with the lowest protein content by weight include some fishes, hot dogs, sausages and roast duck. These contain 20 percent or less of protein by weight, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture website.
Most cooked meats and poultry contain 6 grams of protein per ounce, states the USDA. Ground chicken is lower, at about 5 grams per ounce, while beef is about 7 grams per ounce. Some fish have lower protein per weight. Alaskan crab contains about 5 grams per ounce, and squid has fewer than 5. However, salmon and catfish are comparable to beef. For example, sockeye salmon contains about 6 grams per ounce, states the USDA.
