What is Mexx Canada?

Mexx Canada was a clothing and fashion retailer that used to be found throughout Canada. In March of 2015, Mexx Canada closed all of its 95 stores throughout Canada. It was part of the International Mexx Corporation which was founded in Amsterdam in the 1980s by Rattan Chadha.

Mexx has been plagued with financial woes due to increased competition from U.S. retailers. In 2014, Mexx Canada filed for bankruptcy protection, mainly because of debt owed to Mexx Europe. The store closings caused 1,700 people to lose their jobs in Canada. Mexx can still be found throughout the world, but on a much smaller scale.
