Where is the Mojave Desert?

The Mojave Desert is located in southeast California and parts of northwest Arizona, southwest Utah, southern Nevada and central California. Charleston Peak in Nevada is the highest point, and Badwater Basin in California is the lowest point.
Around 200 endemic species of plants live in the Mojave including the Joshua tree, Mojave sage, Parry saltbush and creosote bush. National parks located in the Mojave include Joshua Tree, Zion, Death Valley and the Grand Canyon. Surrounding lakes include Lake Mead, Lake Havasu and Lake Mojave, whereas the rivers include the Colorado, Mojave and Amargosa. Major cities in the desert are Las Vegas, Nev., and Victorville, Calif.
