How much will a 700mb CD hold?

A standard audio 700 MB CD can store approximately 80 minutes of audio recording set at 16-bit PCM and with a 44,100 Hz sampling rate. Other media stored on the CD affects the storage capacity based on the size and format of the individual files.
If a music CD is being created using the MP3 format, it can store much more audio. This requires that the device playing the CD can recognize and access the files. When files outside audio are being recorded, simply total the size of the files being stored to determine maximum capacity. Storing pictures that average 5 MB per picture would allow for approximately 140 images.
