The aloe vera dosage for diabetes varies, according to the Mayo Clinic. Dosages include 5 to 15 milliliters of aloe juice taken twice a day; 300-milligram aloe extract tablets taken twice a day for two months; and 1 tablespoon of aloe taken twice a day for 42 days.
Aloe vera gel, taken orally, appears to help diabetics by lowering the blood glucose, according to WebMD. Aloe vera also helps to lower cholesterol. High dosages of aloe or aloe latex are dangerous, and can result in side effects. Oral aloe can cause cramping and diarrhea, which in turn may create an electrolyte imbalance in the blood.
