According to the USDA National Nutrient Database, a 3.5-ounce serving of roasted chicken breast meat contains approximately 31 grams of protein. A 3.5-ounce serving of roasted chicken leg meat contains approximately 27 grams of protein, and a 3.5-ounce serving of roasted chicken wing meat contains approximately 30 grams of protein.

Compared to chicken leg meat and chicken wing meat, chicken breast is lowest in calories, total fat and saturated fat. The complete protein in chicken meat contains all of the essential amino acids the body requires for lean muscle growth.

Adult women should consume about 46 grams of protein per day, and adult men should consume 56 grams of protein per day, according to WebMD.
