By Forinfos - 22/04/2025 - 0 comments
The average liver in a woman is 7 centimeters in length and 1200 to 1400 grams in weight, while the average male liver weighs 1400 to 1500 grams and has a span of 10.5 centimeters, according to the National Center for Biotechnology Information. The size of someone's liver depends on the persons's age, sex, body size and body shape.
A liver that is 2 to 3 centimeters smaller or larger than the stated average liver size is considered to be abnormal. Generally, the liver cannot be felt due to its location behind the rib cage. When the liver is palpable, it can be a sign that the liver is diseased.
