What is Old Village paint?

Old Village produces the same color paints that 18th and 19th century craftsmen used. Available since 1816, Laney's Old Village interior and exterior paints are historically appropriate for Colonial, Federal and Victorian style buildings. Many historic areas, such as Virginia's Colonial Williamsburg and Tennessee's Hermitage, use Old Village products.
The colors are created using natural earth pigments from all over the world. Because the colors must be used on many different materials — including wood, plaster and masonry — latex, oil-base, buttermilk formulations and paste stains are available. In addition, Laney's offers graining and glazing liquids for decorative effects, whitewash crackle coatings to simulate aging and Goopy paints for distressed coats.
