The oldest player in the National Football League in the 2014-15 season is Adam Vinatieri, who is the kicker for the Indianapolis Colts. Vinatieri turned 42 years old in early January of 2015.

Vinatieri joined the NFL in 1996 as a kicker after attending South Dakota State. He played for the New England Patriots from 1996 to 2005. In 2006, he signed as a free agent with the Indianapolis Colts. In his career, he has been named to three Pro Bowls and earned two Golden Toe Awards for being the best kicker. He has played on four Super Bowl-winning teams.
