There are a variety of non-profit organizations throughout the United States devoted to finding homes for Afghan hounds, including Afghan Hound Club of America Rescue, Afghan Hound Club of Central Ohio and Northern California Afghan Hound Rescue. There are many rescue groups that focus specifically on Afghan hounds. Although there may not be an organization in every state or metropolitan area, volunteers at one of these organizations can put potential adopters in touch with the closest rescue group in a given geographic area. Additionally, the website Petfinder.com allows users to search for adoption groups by specific breed and state.
