Where is the Orinoco River located?

The Orinoco River is located in South America and flows through Venezuela and Colombia. The river empties into the Atlantic Ocean at Delta Amacuro on the Venezuelan coast, while its source is located on the border between Brazil and Venezuela.

The Orinoco River is one of the longest in South America, measuring approximately 1,330 miles. It has a basin of around 339,770 square miles and descends some 3,435 feet on its journey toward the sea. The name Orinoco derives from indigenous Guarano words meaning "a place to paddle." Fittingly, more than 1,000 miles of its course are navigable to boats and ships during the wet season, when the river is at its deepest.
